Tryptamines

Tryptamines, a group of naturally occurring or synthetic compounds with a similar indole-ring structure, are widely used. These include neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, as well as psychoactive substances and medications. Tryptamines, which are naturally occurring, are derived by the human body from tryptophan.

Tryptamines are important neurotransmitters in the human body, including serotonin (5 hydroxytryptamine or 5HT) and Melatonin. Some tryptamines are known for their psychedelic effects, including altered states of awareness, perception changes, and hallucinations.
